do you hear what i hear?

Essays. eff'n essays. nuf said.

well, nearly enough said: currently i am working my first of four ... "cuban missile crisis" ... i'm learning a lot too. i am getting a lot of interference though. you see, i watched the movie 13 days about a year ago. at the time i new little of the cold war, and never really know there was a crisis with cuba. having watched the movie i found out something about both. following the movie (regretably) i did not do any subsequent reading to learn anything more.

now, i am getting that chance to do the reading i should have done then, but, like i said, i am getting some interference .. some feedback if you will. because you see, as i read through books and journals and transcripts i am haunted by the southern drawl of the characters of the movie. it is almost as if the movie based on a novel has ruined the novel for me forever. like Mos Def's voice booming through my brain as Ford Prefect goes about his adventures.

mind you, that is not necessarily ruined. not that i have a crush on Mos Def, but that I have a celebrity narrator read me my stories. it is a bit of a change from the droned voice i hear reading me my thoughts day in and day out. change is not all that bad.

Lloyd Robertson, on occasion, reads me the morning paper. who reads you your stories?
